Nicole Atkinson - DNA Therapy

Nicole Atkinson, LCSW, is a dedicated therapist and the founder of DNA Therapy and Creative Solutions. The name of the practice, created collaboratively with her son, stands for “Delete Negativity Always,” reflecting her mission to empower clients to overcome life’s challenges and foster personal growth.

With a career in social work that began in 2007, Nicole brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for helping others. She is EMDR certified and has received several trauma-focused trainings. She grew up surrounded by the field of social work, which nurtured her innate desire to support and uplift individuals. While she values working with clients from all walks of life, her true specialty is empowering individuals healing from trauma, particularly those navigating the effects of childhood physical and sexual abuse, and intergenerational trauma. She supports those whose past experiences are impacting their relationships and hindering their ability to achieve their goals. Her focus is on helping these clients build confidence, improve self-esteem, and rediscover their sense of purpose, especially as they navigate life transitions and overcome barriers to creating the lives they desire

Nicole focuses predominantly on trauma, anxiety, and depression, utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These therapeutic approaches allow her to address the unique needs of her clients effectively, helping them navigate their emotional struggles and achieve meaningful change.

Through her practice, Nicole creates a compassionate and supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. Her holistic approach emphasizes resilience and positivity, ensuring that each individual receives personalized care tailored to their journey toward healing and self-discovery.
